Start building your Blog – Session

This Session will teach you everything that is required to build your blog and apply your digital Marketing learning practically.

4 of 85

What is Blogging

Blogging is the most modernized approach to gain visitors, engaging them and letting them know about the product or service you want to promote.

Which is why this Session has been constructively designed. It will help you build your blog step by step and learn to post engaging content

5 of 85

Blogging

Please Note: This Session is NOT about business

website or e-commerce development. You have to

build your blog at first place in order to implement

all the concepts and tools taught in your Digital

Marketing modules.

6 of 85

Also, we will recommend you to use the WordPress

platform for blog building which gives us the

flexibility to easily turn your blog into a business

website or e-commerce store LATER ON. But that

requires a lot of experimentation and additional

efforts.

7 of 85

Blogging

It requires a lot of experimentation and additional efforts; thus we recommend you to pursue the experimentation once you complete your course. Otherwise, it would hinder your course progress.

Finalize your Niche

Step-1

9 of 85

Finalize your niche

 What could your niche be?

Step 1

To start with the Blogging Workshop, the first thing that you need to do is finalize an appropriate niche on which you can enthusiastically work. Anything that is not interesting to you won’t work out for you in the long run. To finalize your niche, you need to consider implementing the following steps:

.

10 of 85

Finalize your Niche

Identify your top 3 interests and passions.

Check market research reports/news on trends around that topic of interests.

Ask yourself critical questions like is this topic too generic eg. Sports/Fashion/

Technology for me to be able to compete or too specific eg. A single tour of England

cricket team to India or Review of a particular model of DELL laptops to be able to find

long-term traffic and create more content? Your niche should balance both these

questions out.

11 of 85

How popular will that niche be in future?

.

Each business or blog must solve a pain point of users in that sector. List down at least 3 pain points that you or any other user faces for each of those interests.

Check Google trends for search behavior around that pain points.

Repeat the process for each of your 3 interests.

12 of 85

Finalize your Niche

Finalize your niche based on your observations of the above two critical questions.

Search for relevant websites and blogs; check what type of content they are posting and validate your idea of the blog.

.

Finalize a Domain Name

Step-2

14 of 85

Finalize a Domain Name

After finalizing your niche, you need to think of a domain name. A domain name is the name of your website followed by an extension such as ‘yourwebsite.com’. A good domain name exhibits the following characteristics:

Short and easy to type which makes it easy to remember.

Followed by top-level domain extensions i.e. .com, .net, .org or country specific extensions like .in, .co.in, .uk, .us etc.

15 of 85

Finalize a Domain Name

2. Play around with the words. It is difficult to get single word domain. It is good if you can find one but you can go for a two-word domain name, for example, pcti@pctiltd.com.

1.Go through websites relevant to your

niche and list down the ones which are most relevant to your niche.

3. After you finalize a domain name, visit GoDaddy.com homepage to check whether your chosen domain is available or not. GoDaddy will also display alternate domain extensions. You can select from the legacy and country specific domain extensions listed above.

.

To finalize a good domain name, you need to work on the following steps

Finalize a Domain Name

Note: If you already have a domain name then you can mark this step complete and move to the next step to link with AWS (amazon web services or any other like bigrock.com , hostinger.com and many more ) hosting with your domain name that you already have.

  • Do not copy from anywhere it should be in your own style of writing .
  • Use your Original pics and if borrowed then mention the link of source also in your blog to avoid copyright issues.

How to make Blogging more interesting

25 of 85

Most Important

  1. Get Started
  2. Be consistent then only our site will get rating by goggle and money will start pouring in. It means at least one nice colourful blog from your side per week; one blog will not take more than 4 -6 hours to make.
  3. DO NOT COPY FROM ANYWHERE (check at plagiarism-checker/ or copyscape.com ), IT SHOULD BE IN YOUR OWN STYLE OF WRITING

  • Blogger is a free publishing platform, while BlogSpot is a free domain service provider.
  • They’re both owned by Google and are used together on the Blogger platform.
  • Try entering the URL: blogspot.com and you’ll end up at this URL: blogger.com.

Step-16

Creating pages and adding pages to menu

  • Now your blog setup has been complete. It’s time to fill the blog with content. Let’s start by creating some pages in our blog.
  • People most of the times ask the difference between the WordPress page and post. Both of these are shown in the form of web pages on your website/blog but there is a big difference. The pages are created to display the information related to your business, website or blog. Pages are supposed to be displayed in the navigation bar of your blog or website. Whereas, the blog posts are the regular feeds which you write and publish on your blog.
  • To start with, you just have to create two pages i.e. and ‘About’ and ‘Contact’ page.
  • In the about page, just write the description of your blog and what you are offering in around 70 to 100 words. And in the contact page, just enter the contact information such as: your phone number and email address.
