Looking Ahead

Outcome of 2021-22 TLI: Each grade level develops one 90-minute* in-person Professional Learning session that introduces teachers to a grade level lesson sequence developed previously in the TLI.

Final product: A facilitator guide w/slides to provide all the guidance needed for anyone to be able to use it to lead the PD.

*some flexibility on timing

Next Steps

  • Schedule two team meetings (teacher and EE partner collaborators together either in person or virtual)
    • 1) January: Hand off the complete draft of facilitation guide and slides and address any clarifying questions
    • 2) February: Practice Run! Teachers present the PD with EE partner as audience
  • Optional consultation time (virtual) with COE and MBSP
    • January 22 & 29 from 1-4pm

Teacher Roles and Responsibilities

Teachers:

    • Revise the Facilitation Guide and Slides to add your expertise for classroom realities, grade level teaching tips, equity strategies and connections to adopted curriculum
    • February: Do an informal practice run with EE partner as audience before submitting your final draft to the COE
    • Submit final guide and slides by the end of February
    • Final meeting and survey May 7, 1:00-4:00 pm

Partner Roles and Responsibilities

Environmental Education Partners:

  • Finish complete draft of facilitation guide and slides – see BEETLES guides and slides as exemplar models for inspiration (but do not be too hard on yourselves! Those folks had a lot more time and resources.)
  • Make any necessary updates to the lesson sequences and share final version that should be linked in the PD guide and website
  • Info to come from COE on new evaluation links to insert
  • Final meeting and survey May 7, 1:00-4:00 pm
