Important notes

As per the BCSDA Policy book:

    • To qualify for a Year End award:

    • Members competing in trials outside of BC which are sanctioned by other jurisdictions will have results applied to move-ups as though the trial was a BCSDA sanctioned trial. These results are NOT applied to year-end points.

***Members gaining move-up legs in such trials have the responsibility to notify the BCSDA Trial Director***

A dog must be entered in a minimum of three (3) BCSDA sanctioned trials in a year (October 1 to September 30).

BCSDA Move-Up Rules for 2025:

Announcements for the dog and handler teams that earned move-ups will be available shortly. An email will be sent, but also check the website. Here are the guidelines from our policy book…

SHEEP:

Pro-Novice to Open:

  • Placing 7 times in the top 3rd of Pro Novice class of 10 dogs or more.
  • Placing 2 times in the top half of an Open class with 10 or more dogs

Nov-Nov to Pro-Novice:

  • Placing 7 times in the top 3rd of a Nov-Nov class:
      • Field trial of 10 dogs or more.
      • Arena trial of 6 dogs or more.
  • Placing once in the top half of a sanctioned PN class of 10 dogs or more.

BCSDA Move-Up Rules for 2025:

CATTLE:

Both Intermediate to Open and Novice to Intermediate:

  • When a handler-dog pair place three (3) times in the top third of a class
  • When a handler-dog pair places in the top half of a higher class.
