Who am I?

Hello! My name is Parker Solar Probe.

I want to introduce myself.

I am a spacecraft and I make observations about the outer

corona of the sun.

My father is Dr. Eugene Parker.

I am from the United States of America.

The mass of my spacecraft is 1510 pounds

(685 kilograms) and its speed is 692000 km/

hr.

My dream

One day I went to my friend, the Sun. It was amazing. My dream came true. At first I told my friends about the Sun. The Sun does not have a solid surface. It is a giant ball of hot plasma that is held together by its own gravity. The material that forms the Sun’s atmosphere is called the corona. But much about the corona remains a mystery. The Corona has two main mysteries. The first mystery is about its temperature. The corona is around 300 times hotter than the photosphere, the visible surface of the sun. Secondly, there is a constant stream of wind flowing from the Sun, known as the solar wind.

Some facts about my friend “the Sun”

1.Size: The Sun is about 100 times wider than the Earth and about 10 times wider than Jupiter, the biggest planet. If the Sun was as big as a typical front door, Earth would be about the size of a nickel.

2.Star attraction: The Sun is the only star in our solar system, and its gravity holds the solar system that revolves around it together, including the planets, asteroids, comets, and tiny bits of space debris.

3.Length of a day: Measuring a “day” on the Sun is complicated because of the way it rotates.

4.Walking on sunshine:The Sun does not actually have a solid surface because it is a ball of plasma.

5.Dynamic Atmosphere:This is where we see features such as solar prominences, flares, and coronal mass ejections.

My Adventure!

A journey to the Sun is, of course, a dangerous one. I experienced 475 times the solar radiation that Earth does. The Sun and I became friends because I have instruments that are protected from the Sun by a 4.5 inch-thick (11,43cm) carbon- composite shield which can withstand temperatures reaching nearly 2500 degrees Fahrenheit (1,377 Celsius)

And his speed is 692000 km an hour Which I felt was unfair

This spacecraft was made by Dr.Eugene So I stared down the barrel of a gan

Who lived in Chicago Into the shining sun.

What am I studying with this journey?

I also studied comets, detected radio emissions from Venus's atmosphere, and even captured the first-ever images of Venus's surface in visible wavelengths. With my closest pass of the sun still ahead in 2024, only time will tell what new discoveries await.
