How are IB scores calculated?

• Each IB course has Internal & External Assessments. The combination & weighting of these assessments creates your score of 1-7
• INTERNAL: conducted & marked by your teacher. Scores & samples are sent to the IB & grades are moderated by examiners
• EXTERNAL ASSESSMENTS: completed in class & at home - sent to the IB to be graded by examiners
• EXTERNAL EXAMS: taken in May at the end of each course & graded by examiners
• The exam fee covers ALL of the assessments/exams for each course

• World Language (only if you’re in the 2nd year of the course)

SENIORS:

• English A: Literature HL (if you took both years)

• Spanish B ab initio SL (Spanish 2 or 3)

• History HL
• Psychology SL

• THE FOLLOWING MUST REGISTER TO SUBMIT ASSESSMENTS (no actual exams in May)

Why register for exams?

The only way to complete an IB course is to take & pass all assessments. You must complete the course in order to receive college credit.

​

If you choose to not register, you must complete an equivalent assessment for the course to receive the weighted grade at AHS.

How to register

Follow the steps on the next slides!

What you need before registering:

• A list of the courses you’re registering for
• A credit or debit card
• Each course costs $128
• There is a $20 one-time administration fee
• Parent/Guardian email, phone number & phone provider (i.e. AT&T)
• Know what type of candidate you are:
• Anticipated - junior working toward your IB Diploma
• Career Program - N/A do not select
• Course - junior or senior taking one or more IB courses (not pursuing the diploma)
• Diploma - senior taking the full IB diploma
• Retake - N/A do not select

STEPS

• Log on to www.TotalRegistration.net/IB/050003
• Answer the registration questions
• Questions that might need clarification:
• 1st language - what language did you learn to speak 1st
• 1st nationality - what is the country of your primary citizenship
• English proficiency - write High, Medium, or Low
• Testing accommodations - do you have a 504 or IEP that allows for accommodations?
• Enter your parent/guardian information
• Select the courses you are registering for
• Enter payment information
• Confirm your registration! Save the receipt for your records!
• You must register through the provided link. You cannot register for IB exams during AP registration!

REGISTER BEFORE 10/25

A $25 late fee is applied if you register between 10/26 -10/31

Registration closes on 10/31
