Assessment – how will I be assessed?

Component 1: Portfolio = Y10

What's assessed:

A portfolio of work that shows even coverage of the four assessment objectives. It must include a sustained project evidencing the journey from initial ideas to the realisation of intentions and a selection of supporting work in the form of a mini project.

How is it assessed:

• No time limit

• 96 marks

• 60% of GCSE

Component 2:

Externally set assignment = Y11

What's assessed:

Students respond to a chosen starting point from an externally set assignment paper released by AQA in January, the project needs to evidence the four assessment objectives.

How is it assessed:

• Preparatory period followed by 10 hours of supervised time

• 96 marks

• 40% of GCSE
