Mission Statement

Our objective is to distribute water purifiers to schools with the aim of positively impacting the lives of students and raising awareness about water-related concerns. We strive to foster collaboration, education, and proactive measures within schools, empowering students and educators to address a plethora challenges and take action.

Why do we need water purifiers?

  • Water purifiers ensure clean, safe drinking water by eliminating harmful bacteria and preventing illnesses.
  • Installing a water purifier is practical, easy to maintain, and cost-effective.

Statistics

  • Only 47% of the schools in india have access to drinking water so 53% of schools don’t.�
  • 718 districts out of 766 districts in india are affected by extreme water depletion.

About 42 thousand government schools in India lack supply to clean water.��About 2 lakh people die every year due to inadequate supply to clean water in India.

  • A water purifier maintenance can cost anywhere between ₹2,000 to ₹6,000 per year.�
  • Costs of purifiers: 2,500 onwards for purifiers which can produce 30-45 litres per hour.

  • The price range for advanced purification systems are between ₹10,000 to ₹20,000 for purifiers that can purify and provide between 50-100 litres of water per hour.

Solution

  • We plan on raising funds by contacting family, friends and Harvard YLC members.
  • Insightful messages and posters will be hung next to the water purifiers.
  • Schools that need water purifiers will be identified and installed accordingly.
  • All the interested donors will be added to a WhatsApp group, or directly donate an amount.
