WHO WE ARE?
The Family Support Organization is part of The Children’s System of Care in NJ.
We are a non-profit organization funded by the State of NJ.
We offer support, education and advocacy to families raising children with emotional/behavioral challenges, developmental disabilities or substance abuse challenges.
OUR MISSION
To empower parents and caregivers through education, resources,
and peer support so they can advocate confidently and effectively
for their child’s needs
ABOUT OUR STAFF
All FSO Staff members are parents or caregivers who have personally navigated the challenges of raising children with special needs. Their lived experience drives our passion and shapes our approach:
• We understand the journey because we lived it.
• We educate families on diagnosis, rights within the educational system and within the System of Care and available community resources.
• We emphasize the importance of self-care for caregivers
