Jesus Christ, we know His story,

All disciples should attend

To His message, to His challenge,

Calling us to be a friend.

When our life is stress and sorrow,

When our hope seems at an end,

Strength and purpose can renew us,

If we know we have a friend.

Joys of life enhance its beauty,

Gentleness and virtues blend,

Happiness is so much deeper

With the closeness of a friend.

We are called to love and service;

On each other we depend;

And our Lord has shown us clearly

What it means to be a friend.

God, in Christ, unveils the mystery,

Difficult to comprehend -

Love, it streams with no restrictions;

“Yes”, God says, “I call you friend”.
