How do flowers make seeds?

Flowers use the male bits and the female bits

Leschenaultia sp.

Pollen travels from the stamen of one flower to the style of another flower.

It burrows down the style to the ovule.

Pollen and ovule join and grow into a seed.

What does a banksia seed do?

The flowers on the spike start to die.

The spike becomes a hard woody nut.

When seeds are fully grown, the follicles open and seeds fall to the ground.

Seeds grow inside the nut, each seed is in

a woody case, called a follicle.
