Reason: We believe that in this fast moving world, people choose to invest more of their life towards routine work and fail to concentrate on minor health hazards they carry with them through their journey, like bad posture, and this puts them in danger on the long run, we chose this track to solve this problem since we believe that this problem is becoming more unnoticed.

Why is this necessary?

People Working in Corporate Environment forget about their body posture. Incorrect Body Posture may lead to severe long term medical conditions such as:

  • Musculoskeletal disorders
  • Poor Circulation
  • Impaired Lung Function
  • Poor Digestion
  • Constricted Nerves
  • Misaligned Spine
  • A Curvature of The Spine

SOLUTION

  • This project aims to provide an assessment tool to assess, identify, eliminate hazards and risks associated with the ergonomics of an individual’s workstation at home.
  • It ensures that everyone can assess their postures and help them to correct their postures to prevent from being affected by Musculoskeletal Disorders.
  • With live webcam video of a person captured, this application finds if the posture is risky or not, based on industry standard Ergonomics assessment techniques such as
    • Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA)
    • Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA)

Unique Selling Point

  • This process is aided with pose estimation algorithms that use Deep learning models.
  • MediaPipe, one of the state-of-the-art models is used in this tool to get precise key points (body joints).
  • All assessments identify corresponding joints risk factors and quantify them accordingly so that the results can be compared and respective prescriptions for his/her ergonomics are provided to the user.
  • It gives all the detailed intermediate scores of each assessment, specifying exactly the part of the body which has to be changed to make his/her ergonomics correct. The tool is built to function as a comprehensive system to prevent injuries from Industrial Jobs as well.

Feasibility of the Idea

  • In contrast to typical software, which calls for high-end cameras, static images, and films, this is all software-based, and the only hardware need would be our computer's webcam. So this is a really feasible solution.

What is the novelty of our idea and how is it different? from the current market

  • We produce real-time dynamically created results and have connected it with numerous apps like telegram to make it more diversified and accessible than most ergonomics and wellness softwares, which produce results with high delays using static images and videos. This is the fact that makes our product unique from others.

Privacy Mode

  • Since live fact tracking is enabled here, only your face will be tracked and this face tracking data is safely encrypted and the key stored in the aws DynamoDB Clusters.
  • The video feed from the camera does not reach the cloud server but rather the video is converted into coordinates at the edge device itself(local computer) and only the coordinate data is sent to the cloud

  • Any Company with a stationary workplace such as Corporate Giants like Apple, Facebook, etc. would be our target market space.
  • Since the concept of working in a stationary place would stay forever in the IT industry, even in an work from home environment, the validity of our product too can be trusted on.

  • Approach 1: Tie up with employee wellness programs like Go365, Virgin Pulse, Inc. Bravo. Wellworks For You, WellRight, to function as a launchpad for the product in IT industry
  • Approach 2: Contract Based Tie-up with companies would suffice as a better business model to promote the product as a standalone application for personal use
  • Long Term Approach: Using the reputation built through approach 1 and 2 to start a new wellness company, having this product in the spotlight.
