  • Brown’s Software Catalog offers ArcGIS Pro as a free download, but you need to send an email to Lynn_Carlson@brown.edu in order to activate it
  • The Unreal Engine 4 template is free on the UE4 Marketplace

USING ARCGIS PRO WITH A MAP AND EXCEL SPREADSHEET

  • I needed to be able to tie spreadsheet data to the maps in ArcGIS before running it through City Engine and then exporting to UE4
  • I started off with 2D maps and spreadsheets from city Open Data respositories

STUFF THAT STILL NEEDS TO BE DONE

  • Get the City Engine project exported to Unreal Engine so the UE4 project can be run in VR
    • Test that this works with collaboration features
    • Target date: end of this week

  • Deliverables:
    • Decide which location and data set to use for the class activity, create a City Engine project for that data, then compile a UE4 project that the class can install
    • Ideally make a screen recording of the project creation process for that set, so it can be turned into a tutorial for the wiki
