What in the world is a DBA?
- A Discussion Based Assessment (DBA) is an assessment you have individually with your teacher in English to talk about topics you have learned in your course so far.
- You will complete it on Zoom on your own in a quiet place, and will be able to see lots of visuals to help you complete it. It is best to do your Zoom DBA in the computer.
- Be sure you do not skip your DBAs, as you will do better if you complete them in order.
- Your teacher may have an appointment scheduler on your course’s home page, where you can set up a time to chat, or you may text your teacher as well.
- You may use your guided notes in English AND your primary language, use a dictionary in English/primary language (book), and any Academic Glossary or resource that your teacher provides. There is no translation in your DBAs.
- We know speaking English is hard for you right now, so don’t worry! We will help you be successful and you’ll love spending time interacting one-on-one with your teacher. 😍
*Students may do one DBA per day per class.*
