Land Acknowledgement

Today, as we mark Pink Shirt Day and stand against bullying, we pause in gratitude, remembering that St. Peter High School rests on the unceded land of the Anishinaabe Algonquin People, who have cared for this land since time immemorial.

Guided by Indigenous voices, Elders, community partners, and the Truth and Reconciliation Commissions Calls to Action, we commit ourselves to a path of learning, respect, and right relationship.

Standing firm like an eagle on the heights, may we choose reconciliation over division, bravery over silence, and love over exclusion — today and always.

Prayer

Father, God of love,

We thank You for this evening and for every family gathered here.Thank You for the beautiful diversity among us that enriches our community, builds bridges across generations, and helps our students grow in wisdom and grace.

Send Your Holy Spirit to guide our minds and hearts tonight. As we share our plans for the school year, lead us with Your wisdom and sustain us with Your grace, so that all we do may serve our students well.

May Your peace live in our families, in our school community, in our country, and throughout the world. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
