Coach requirements

  • Must be registered through AYSO
  • Have properly filled out game cards
  • Possess Medical Release forms at all events
  • Have player and Coaches passes
  • Must have age-appropriate training and…
    • Safe Haven
    • Safesport
    • Concussion Awareness
    • Sudden Cardia Arrest
    • Livescan Fingerprinting

Coach requirements (cont.)

  • Must report scores
  • Submit a roster signed by the RC to league board
  • Must report injuries that require medical attention or causes a player not to play
    • Report should be turned in to RC and Safety Director
    • Player pass should accompany form
    • If report was filed, medical release required
  • Must always use Positive Coaching (PIE)

Milliken League Games

a. The ¾ rule is encouraged to allow everyone to play

b. No playing time restriction for Keepers

c. League Rules supersede Regional Requirements

d. 12U games are 60 minutes – 14U games are 70 minutes

e. Area Director determines the outcome of matches that have been terminated

f.  Running up the score (more than 5 goal differential) is considered poor sportsmanship. If done 2+ times, team may not be invited to Area Tournament.  

g. No Protests, either against referee judgements or match results

h. Player receiving a “red card” may result in a 1 game suspension (2 games minimum for Violent Conduct).

14U League Games

No playing time restriction for Keepers

14U will have free substitutions

A Timekeeper is permitted in the technical area but cannot coach, either during the game or at halftime

  • Please report game scores to scores@ayso2b.org.  Counting on dual-reporting (each coach for a match) of results to ensure accuracy, but your division coordinator can collect/send results if you prefer.��12U/14U Coaches Contacts + master game schedule

  • November 08 – last game
  • November 22/23 – Area Invitational for 10U/12U
  • November 29/30 – San Bruno Turkey Tournament
  • December 6/7 – Area Invitational for 14U.
  • December 13/14 – Section 2 Tournament
  • March 2026 – Western States Tournament

Miscellaneous

  • Rainouts – Contact home coach since field hotlines may not be updated
  • Game Cards – must be printed with players in numerical order
  • Running up score – 5 goals differential is considered “running up the score”
  • No heading in 12U  (or a 14U team containing a 12U player)
  • Referee decisions are FINAL
  • Remember, safe, fair, and FUN
  • Local health/safety requirements – RC to share with coaches
