Course Registration Timeline

Monday, March 2 - Friday, March 13 - Students will submit Google Form of their course preferences. Staff will enter their course selection into Infinite Campus this year due to technical difficulties.

Monday, March 23 - Wednesday, April 1 - Counselors will be available to meet with students. Google Calendar link is on the website. Parents can email to make appointments or students can invite them to their appt.

Early April: Student Verification Sheets will be sent home with students.

Last day to change course selections for 2026-2027: Friday, April 24

    • All changes to course selection choices after registration deadline of March 13 should be emailed to Ms. Bunn and/or Mr. Gross.

Registration Appointments

Make an appointment with Ms. Bunn or Mr. Gross if you have specific registration and/or graduation questions or concerns.

    • Parents can attend registration appointments via Google Meet. Please make sure you check with your parents regarding a date and time that is conducive for them.

  • Talk to your teachers about possible course choices. Particularly in math–you’ll have a recommendation from them!
  • Talk to your parents.
  • Talk to your counselor or Dr. Kincy.
    • Biotech students will take courses that will align with the Biotech program
    • IT students will take courses that will align with the IT program.

  • Students can only take college courses that are listed on the WTCC Program sheet.
  • Students who earned certifications might enable them to take the next course in the WTCC sequence of courses or have credit for future Year 13 courses.
    • Note: For course selections, students will select their pathway. The 4 courses that are listed on the course selection sheet will be automatically used. Dr. Kincy will check certifications earned and swap out the selected course for the course needed, if applicable.

Student Internships Overview

120 hrs ~ 3 Components ~ Final Presentation

3 Components:

  • Project--This is something that you work on during the actual internship experience (work based learning).
  • Portfolio--Journals, progress reports, timesheets, etc. (submitted via Canvas)
  • Work Experience--Actual time spent working at the internship/place of business (120 hrs).
  • WCPSS only allows students to receive 2 internship credits
    • summer before 12th, during 12th, & 13th year are the options).

Wake Tech (WTCC) Eligibility Reminders

  • Students can only take WTCC courses in their program of study, and must meet the prerequisite requirements.
  • Students must maintain the required GPA to remain in their WTCC program of study (2.0 minimum).
  • Students have the option of completing the 13th year to earn the Associate of Applied Science Degree.
    • 5th period
    • Summer School
    • 13th year

Do WTCC Courses Transfer to a 4-year College/University?

  • The Associate of Applied Science degrees have general education courses that are transferable to 4 year institutions, such as PSY 150 and HUM 110.
  • In relation to the specific program of study courses, transfer credit depends on the specific university the student wants to attend and the type of degree that the student wants to pursue at that university.
  • Students must reach out to the institutions to see if courses are transferable.

*Many 4-year institutions have a “Transfer Credit” website.

Do WTCC Degrees Transfer to a 4-year College/University?

  • Visit WTCC’s University Partnerships website to determine which college/university would accept the WTCC Associate of Applied Science degrees offered.

  • WCPSS doesn’t offer enrichment courses for students to get ahead in high school.
  • Students interested in taking a WTCC summer school course must complete the WTCC Summer School Enrollment Google Form. The form release date is TBD.
  • Enrollment in WTCC summer school courses is based on availability and the number of WTCC credits already completed.

  • Course availability, delivery of instruction and time of courses may vary for each student. We will not know that information until we approach the WTCC summer registration period. Classes are publicly available to view on April 1st.
  • WECIB is responsible for ordering materials for specific WTCC classes, therefore it is important that students commit to taking the summer courses when they complete the WTCC Summer School Enrollment Google Form.
  • Students cannot self-register for any WTCC summer school course. Dr. Kincy will be responsible for registering any student who is interested in taking a WTCC summer school course.
