Don’t rescue the wrong tank!

And don’t rescue too early!

- Each red/defamation explosion deals ~35k to a dps/healer (everyone will take 1-2 hits of this over the course of the entire mechanic)

- The group shared dmg on a dps is ~50k. Whichever dps starts with the ‘short stack’ (8s buff) will take two of these hits back to back (4s apart). The ‘long stack’ dps only takes one hit and then nothing else for a while.

- The blue tank (in the stack with the dps) will take 20-30k from the first stack (shared with a dps) and then 40-60k from the third stack (solo) - they may need some attention but unless they're tanking the boss it shouldn’t be that tight.

- The boss auto attacks the main tank (should be the red/defamation tank) throughout this phase. It’s not particularly threatening but you definitely can’t just forget about him.

- Critical error (boss cast) itself deals ~15k.

- After critical error, a tank and 2 dps will run out for towers and defamation (red circle debuff) - they will only return to the party right at the end as Ion Efflux is being cast - these 2 dps will be very low after taking tower + red and will need lots of attention to survive the aoe (in our vod Unhoe dies to this).

Biggest danger points are:

  • “short stack” dps taking back to back shared damage (50k x2)
  • Last two tower/defamation(red) dps who are away from the party before Ion Efflux (right at the end).

Other Hello World notes

1/2/2/3 Defamation pops

Stacks are (Tank + short DPS), (long DPS + short DPS), (solo Tank)

  • Having tank in stack makes it easier to heal (unless the tank is MT)
  • With solo 3rd stack, long dps only actually takes 1 stack and then no more damage until critical error
  • Short DPS takes 2 stacks 4s apart, so big burst of damage on them (we used apoc)

No healer movement at the end so it’s easy(er) to prep for Ion Efflux, but both healers are moving at the start so it’s harder to heal the stacks.

If you have the blue/stack tank take the boss initially, and then the other tank voke after getting rescued, uptime is actually quite good. But if you play it safe and have the defamation tank hold the boss the entire time (which is how we did it in our clear) then uptime is actually kinda poor. We started with uptime strat but stack tank was dying so we changed it; we’ll probably go back to good uptime on reclears.

You could also “swap” 2 and C - i.e. have the long stack be towards the middle and have the healer/mt rot holding spot be against the wall. This moves the stack dps onto the boss so they're not just sitting at the wall waiting for the stacks to go off without being able to hit anything, and also pulls the boss farther out earlier. This would mean that after the solo tank stack, instead of the stack people going to get the rot from the mt, the mt should step in and out to pass rot to them. Would also mean that the ‘nothing’ dps now chills with the 2nd stack group for a bit and will have to step out before the stack goes off (their movement is exactly the same, it just means they don’t get rot anymore). Healer initial positioning also changes slightly but for the most part things would be the same for them.

If you want better uptime, check out slides 37+ for a heavily modified version of this strat which maintains full uptime for tanks/melee.

Easy

Hard

- Party Rotate to other side around the back of the boss -> stay max melee.

DPS do NOT cut through the boss

- Tanks rotate around front of boss and spread from each other

- Tank <-> DPS green/red tether must NOT break here

- Party Rotate to safe side

- Tanks rotate to screen side and spread

(there’s a 4th configuration identical to this one except screens on the left)

Patch 5 - Tether Break #3

This will break the red/green tank tether.

Modified Full Uptime Strat

This strat uses the same theory for hello world, except positioning and markers are modified in order to minimise movement and time off the boss.

Defamation order is still 1/2/2/3 and stacks are still (tank+dps8), (dps8+dps12), (solo tank). Tower takers are still moving out (ie. last defamations).

This requires that you make the optimisation where the stack (blue) tank holds the boss until the other tank is rescued in (makes the healing harder on the solo stack tank).

The defamations are squeezed much closer together so you need to be more confident in your positioning - it essentially uses the positions that you would have for a 4x defamation strat.

Stack dps be careful because 1 and 2 are flipped compared to the original uA strat.

Blue tank needs to have hate here. Shirk is optional, but is the easiest way to achieve this.

2

Tank movement

After rescue, the tank with rot needs to take hate on the boss (stack tank can just shirk*).

Then they need to do this awkward movement in order to get out of the way of all the other mechanics, whilst not passing rot and also keeping the boss in range of 2.

You have to run between 1 and 2, hugging closer to 1 (so that you don’t get clipped by the stack at 2) but not actually through 1 (so that you don’t pass rot to the other tank) and then move “behind 1”, dragging the boss back in the process.

If you move on the outside of 1 then the boss will come out of melee range of 2. If you move too slowly or not far enough back, then you will get clipped by the solo stack at 1. You can’t stay at C because the healer defamation hits C.

This is definitely the weirdest part of the strat but tanks should be able to do it without losing any uptime (maybe an auto). It’s not particularly difficult but it feels a bit odd.

Around this time the original rot debuffs will begin to fall off, so the next reposition movement you need to be somewhat careful that you do not clip other people with your explosion for the 4 people with rot here.

MT needs to be far enough back that they don’t get clipped by the solo stack.

You can assign the towers in any way here to the tank/dps who are going to get them.

But keep in mind that the west/D and middle/A towers are in melee range of the boss, but the east/B tower is not.

For best uptime send the tank to the west/D tower, and build a priority list for your dps, where melee have priority for the middle/A tower and ranged prefer to take the east/B tower.

Final Defamation

The people without defamation (i.e the people at 1) need to make doubly sure that they do not step out towards the defamations, because the space is quite squeezed here.

This is fairly tight so it’s pretty important to get the positioning for the markers correct and for the defamation people to go ALL the way to the wall.
