HORSELESS HORSE SKILLS

Local Options

The horseless horse program is open to youth statewide but can be tailored or flexible locally depending on county youth interest. Counties can elect to have youth involved in three ways: individual participation, enhanced participation, or an organized mentor participation program. Here is what those might look like locally:

Individual Participation: Youth participate independently in the Horseless Horse Round Up virtual series, with no additional educational opportunities available locally.

Enhanced Participation: Youth participate in a hybrid program including the virtual series and minimal additional local educational opportunities, such as project days, day camps, short series, etc.

Complete Mentor Program: Youth participate in virtual or in person Horseless Horse Round Up series and volunteers provide supplemental educational experiences and an organized hands-on mentorship program. This could include monthly sessions or seasonal weekly sessions.
