SENTENCE

  • DEFINATION A group of words which makes complete sence is called a sentence .

  • Examples - 1.the sun rises in the east.

2. why are you angry ? 3.how beautiful the rose is !

Assertive sentence

  • Defination- assertive sentence is a sentence which is used for stating a fact.

  • Example- i am reading books.

Interrogative sentence

  • Definationinterrogative sentence is a sentence which is used for asking question.

  • Example- do you know the answer?

Imperative sentence

  • Defination- imperative sentence is a sentence which is used to express order , request or advice .

example- please read the text.

Exclamatory sentence

  • Defination- exclamatory sentence is a sentence which is used to express wonder, surprise or others.

  • Example- hurrah ! We have won the match.

Optative sentence

  • Defination- optative sentence is a sentence which is used to express prayer, blessing etc.

  • Example – may god bless you.

Simple sentence

  • Defination- a sentence that contain one main clause and does not contain co-ordinate clause is called a simple sentence.

  • Example- it is a dog.

Complex sentence

  • Defination-the sentence which contains one main clause andone or more subordinate clauses is called acomplex sentence.

  • Example- the blind man says that it is a big dog.

Compound sentence

  • Defination- when two main clauses are joined together by a co-ordinating linker like and, or, but . We call it a compound sentence.
  • Example- it is a big dog but the idea is wrong.
