Mrs. Foy-Couche’s Week 2
Terrarium Observations
You may answer questions and make drawings on notebook paper instead of the Mini-Journal if necessary.
Go to this link and watch my Google Hangout recording of the WEEK 2 terrarium Observations.

Then come back to the slide show for instructions.
Now write one 3-5 sentence paragraph of your observations from the Hangout session.
Include 3 drawings of individual plants or a planting area.
Sunflower plants Two have the husk or shell still on the leaves (with dirt on the outside of the husk.
More Radish Photos
Notice that radish plants have leaves on their own stems and so it is a split stalk. The leaves are rounder than sunflower and slightly heart-shaped.
Red stalks mean these radishes are making enough sugar to store the extra they have not used.
Sunflowers
New Sprout emerging.
First leaf pair. Fuzzy growth tendrils in the middle.
Husk still on leaves.
Thick pale green stalks.
More Sunflowers
Sunflowers emerge bent slightly then leaves push open the shell and straighten up as they lay flat.
Here is one still bent and husk still on.
Leeks
They are so thin, they emerge bent in half then slowly straighten up.
Thank you for doing your best without seeing the terrariums in person.
Now go back to the Google Doc and continue with the Week 2 Lesson.
