What is Seesaw?

Seesaw is a student-driven digital portfolio that empowers students to create, capture and share what they’re learning at school. �

Seesaw simplifies classroom workflow by collecting and organizing all students’ digital and physical work in one place.

Seesaw engages parents by giving them a real-time, personalized glimpse into their child’s school day, via automatic iOS or Android app notifications, text messages or emails.

How Does Seesaw Work?

Teachers create a class and add their students.

Each student gets their own journal stored safely on the cloud.

Students & teachers add artifacts of learning, like photos, videos, drawings, notes, PDFS or links.

Optionally add voice, text or drawing annotations to work.

Teachers approve students’ new journal items.

Optionally, new items are shared with parents via app, SMS or email notifications.

Over time, Seesaw builds an organized, digital portfolio of each student’s learning. Portfolios are accessible via iOS app or on the web.

Why Should I Try Seesaw?

Setting up your class takes just a few minutes! You can give Seesaw a try without too much time investment upfront, and you don’t need 1:1 iPads or computers to use it.

Seesaw is designed for students to add items on their own, taking the burden of organizing and sharing work off of teachers. But, if you want to add items, you easily can.

No more figuring out which iPad or computer a student’s work is saved on or hunting through various apps to find a project! Students can also add photos of worksheets, art projects, etc, so everything is in one place. When it’s in their journal, it appears on all iPads and on the Seesaw website.

Students are eager to capture their learning and share what excites them. Seesaw gives them a safe space to do that.

It’s safe and secure. You decide who has access to student journals. Seesaw never shares student data and has taken the Student Privacy Pledge.

Parents can be more connected to the classroom and receive personalized communication about their child, all without adding more work to your day!�

Student Features: Simple Class Login

Students do not need their own accounts/passwords. Great for shared iPads or computers!
Students scan Class QR code to sign in using Seesaw’s built-in QR reader - OR - use temporary 4 digit text code to sign into your class
Students pick themselves as item author from the class list while adding item. Students can view their journal, and other journals in your class.
Tag multiple students or the whole class in the same item - great for group projects or class announcements

Seesaw also has Individual Student Account mode for 1:1 devices and Add-Only mode where students can only add items, not browse journals.
