Mentor

Mentee

  1. Exchange emails and phone numbers, Zoom I.D.
  2. Email requested materials
  3. Schedule first meeting
  4. Text gentle reminder of meeting one day prior

First Meeting

  • Introductions
  • Find out what mentee knows about the topic(s).
  • Share your philosophy on mentoring - keep it short.
  • Review all requested materials.
  • Review any prep material provided and answer questions.

First Meeting continued

  • Provide suggestions for changes with reasons.
  • Always provide encouragement.
  • Discuss tasks for next meeting and schedule it.
  • Wrap up meeting on time.

Presentation Day

  • Greet and introduce yourself to the audience.
  • Dress, act and speak professionally.
  • Use good posture.
  • Speak to the back of the audience – always face them.
  • Use a clicker to advance slides.
  • Stand to either side of the screen.

  • Let the audience read the slides – you speak about them.
  • Enjoy your presentation and let others see that you enjoy it – SMILE.
  • Ask if there are questions.
  • Thank your audience for their time and participation.
