Son programas informáticos, que se aprovechan de la debilidad de nuestros equipos o nuestras.

Su intención es hacer daño, los hace un programador.

Son llamados así debido a que simulan la acción de los virus del mundo real, se transmiten a sí mismos infectando otros archivos o componentes, algunos ejecutan un código oculto cuando se dan ciertas condiciones y se ocultan y tratan de engañar a nuestras defensas.
