Purpose of Research

PURPOSE OF THE RESEARCH

To determine if coaching can help refugees enhance their well-being and strengthen their employability.

WHAT WILL WE DO WITH THE RESULTS?

Our hope is to demonstrate to other NGOs and governmental entities that coaching is a tool of integration and of enhancing refugees’ careers in their host communities.

Meet weekly or every two weeks.

Session 1: Match Meeting (Introductions; Build Trust; � Set expectations)

Session 2: Pre-Assessment � (Determine needs; Set goals)

Session 3-7: Coaching YOU set the agenda; Commit to actions to move forward

Your Responsibilities

  • Check your emails for your coach reaching out to you.
  • Schedule sessions every week or every 2 weeks, the latest.
  • Be as flexible as possible in scheduling your sessions with your coach – they are likely to be in a different time zone and have busy, professional lives.
  • 24 hours notification if you MUST cancel.
  • Complete the pre and post assessments as realistically as possible.
  • Complete the actions you committed to do at your prior coaching session.
  • Take notes during or after your session—what you learned about yourself, what you’re committing to do that week.

Conclusion of Coaching

  • Can have an additional 2 sessions if you and your coach agree to it
  • You will be interviewed again and asked to complete a questionnaire
  • 6 months later, there will be another survey to see how you’re doing
  • Once the research is completed, we will post and you can read it!
