SRHS ATTENDANCE PRESENTATION

MOST IMPORTANT THINGS TO REMEMBER

1. Make sure you arrive ON TIME to every class; every single day. This will prevent having to deal with the attendance office - other than to receive your perfect attendance awards :)
2. If you are absent for any reason for a full day, your parents should complete the google form found HERE. (This presentation will be posted to my google classroom so you and your parent/caregiver can get access to the form.) This means they DO NOT CALL or EMAIL - only send the form FROM THE PARENT/CAREGIVER EMAIL ADDRESS ON FILE WITH THE SCHOOL so it is verified.
3. If you are arriving late please go directly to class. A parent should email the attendance office to ensure your absence is excused. The attendance office does NOT issue tardy slips, they will correct your tardy directly in Aeries.
4. If you are leaving school early, a parent must send an email to the attendance office a MINIMUM of 2 hours in advance. A permit to leave will be issued to your student email and your teacher will be cc’d.
5. ALL EMAIL AND PHONE COMMUNICATION MUST MATCH THE CONTACT INFORMATION WE HAVE ON FILE IN AERIES.

TARDIES

1. If you have a legitimate reason to be tardy, you need to get an adult to sign your PLANNER saying you have an excused tardy and include their name/signature and time you leave their office/room/area. The planner becomes your “permanent proof” of an excused tardy. If you are using a temporary planner page, you lose out on the “permanent proof.”
2. Teachers will then either mark you present or tardy excused.
3. Teachers are also trying to plan engaging activities to start each class so you really WANT to be in every class on time.
4. But if you are tardy without an excuse, you will be given one fifteen minute detention per tardy, starting after your fifth unexcused tardy per quarter.
5. These detentions must be served in one of the following ways:
1. Coming to detention before school from 8:05:8:20 (the room will be announced soon)
2. Coming to a detention after school from 3:30-3:45 (the room will be announced soon).
3. Coming to Saturday school and serving time in addition to any required “CUT” makeup time
4. Buying your way out of detention with 100 Positive Panther Points.
5. Picking up 25 pieces of trash under the supervision of a campus supervisor or administrator and getting their verification

TRUANCIES

1. A truancy is an unexcused absence from school for even one period of one day.
2. Truancy is against the law.
3. Parents whose children are truant can be fined and put in jail! No kidding!
4. If you choose not to go to a class and your parent/caregiver has not granted you permission to miss class, it is recorded as a “CUT” or “C” in your attendance.
5. When you accumulate “CUTs” you will have to meet with an administrator and your parent/caregiver to discuss this illegal activity and how SRHS can help you make better choices to get to class.
6. Every “CUT” results in you losing the privilege of participating in extracurricular activities, including athletics, clubs, performing arts, ASB activities, and other fun things.
7. To make up for a “CUT” you will have to attend Saturday School for one hour per “CUT” in order to regain your privilege of participating in those kinds of fun activities.
