  • Overview
    • 21,232 students routed on 590 yellow buses. This includes:
      • Over 6,000 Special Education students
      • Over 2,100 Monitor-required students
    • BPS is using 45 vans to transport Private Special Education Students outside the city of Boston
  • Performance
    • Since school start-up AM on-time performance has averaged 78%
    • 99.3% of all scheduled trips have been covered so far this school year
      • We have had a total of 98 uncovered AM trips so far this year, an average of 9 per day
      • Anytime a trip is uncovered our CS team communicates to schools and families
    • We continue to focus on driver hiring to mitigate all remaining coverage issues and build capacity
      • 34 drivers are still in training and estimated to be on the road by the end of October
    • Monitor coverage continues to be a more persistent challenge
      • The City recently reached an agreement with our Bus Monitors Union for a new contract, which includes operational reforms, better pay, and sign-on and retention bonuses
      • The City removed the residency requirement for monitors, to facilitate recruitment and hiring
