The Angel Tells Nephi About God’s Son
Nephi, the son of Lehi and Sariah, lives in Jerusalem about 600 years before Jesus is born.
One day, Nephi desires to know about Jesus, the Savior of the world, because he has learned from his father that God’s Son will come to earth one day.
Nephi believes that God will show and tell him about Jesus too, so he prays.
The Angel Tells Nephi About God’s Son
God shows Nephi a vision through the power of the Holy Ghost.
In the vision, Nephi sees many cities, among which is the city of Nazareth.
In the city of Nazareth, Nephi sees a virgin, which is a young woman, who is pure or sinless.
The Angel Tells Nephi About God’s Son
Nephi sees the heavens open, and an angel comes down and stands before him.
The angel asks Nephi, “What do you see?”
Nephi answers, “I see a virgin who is most beautiful above all other virgins.”
The angel tells Nephi that the virgin is the mother of God’s son, who will be born and live on the earth.
The Angel Tells Nephi About God’s Son
Nephi sees the Holy Spirit come upon the virgin.
After some time, he sees the virgin holding a baby in her arms.
The angel tells Nephi, “Look at the baby who is the Son of God.”
