Have you begun applying to schools? If you are interested in attending college after graduation, it’s not too late! Many deadlines for applications are not until January, but don’t procrastinate! Here are some tips:

  • Be Aware of Deadlines

Different schools will have varying deadlines for admissions. Make sure you’re allowing enough time to submit your application.

  • Know Your Application Requirements

These requirements may include an official transcript or a self-reported academic record, letters of recommendation, and entrance exam scores.

  • Familiarize Yourself With the Lingo

Get to know the terms often associated with college and career planning.

  • Create an account with the site(s) listed below to arrange for a virtual tour of the colleges in which you are interested.

  • Follow schools you are interested in attending on Instagram! Catch a glimpse of a university’s school spirit and campus life by following their Instagram accounts for updates.

**Many schools are still hosting in-person campus tours/visits. You can always contact admissions offices of the schools you are interested in touring to see if they are participating in campus visits and to schedule a time to tour.

Click on the “About Me” menu option to access your assessments.

  • Learning Styles Inventory - helps you identify how you learn best so you can improve your academic performance

  • MI Advantage - helps students identify their strengths and develop strategies to build those strengths

  • Strengths Explorer - allows students to further identify strengths and talents and set goals based on those talents

  • Do What You Are - helps you identify which colleges and careers may be best-suited to your interests
