Math

This week we are learning how to identify and add coins. Since this week is an introduction we will not be using our math book. If you are out, your teacher will give you the paper copies of the items we are doing this week.

Monday - Thursday: Review and complete the tasks on the next 3 slides. Those 3 slides need to be reviewed and completed each day Monday through Thursday to help prepare for the reading test on this week’s skills.

Friday: Reading test day. You will make up the test once you return to school.

Science and social studies skills are embedded within the reading.

There are not separate slides for science and social studies.

  • We are repeating the stories from last week.

  • Read “A Lost Button” Pg 140-154

  • Read “Sort It Out” Pg 156-161

  • Your child can also go to the McGraw Hill app in classlink or go to the McGraw Hill website and login. Click on read and these stories should be available for them. They can have the story read to them. There are also games and vocabulary activities for them to work on.

  • Read “A Barn Full of Hats” Pg 12-21 in the Unit 5 Reading & Writing Companion

  • Use your yellow crayon and color all the words with combination ar sounds Examples: barn, farm, smart, marched, yarn, farmer, large, Clark, barnyard

  • Circle words with suffix - ed Examples: opened, asked, pulled, clucked, marched, grunted, dragged, sighed

  • Complete the items on the left under “Shared Read” as you read each page.
