PRAISE THE CREATOR

  • Rabash, One’s Greatness Depends on the Measure of One’s Faith in the Future:

“The praises themselves that he gives to the Creator enhance His importance and esteem. This is why we are commanded to think very seriously about praising.”

“The measure of the praise and gratitude does not take the greatness of the gift into account but rather measures the greatness of the giver.”

PRAISE THE SOCIETY

  • Rabash, Concerning Love of Friends:

“Each student must extol each friend and cherish him as though he were the greatest in the generation.”

“Then the environment will affect him as a sufficiently great environment, since quality is more important than quantity.”

WORKSHOP

Rabash says the evil inclination is an angel—a messenger of the Creator—and that through the descents it causes, we are brought closer to the goal. If so, why do we call it “evil”? What is actually evil about the evil inclination?

WORKSHOP

If the desire itself is neither good nor evil, why do we spend so much effort trying to change, suppress, or judge our desires? If our entire spiritual work is in the intention, what exactly are we supposed to be correcting?

CLOSING PRAYER

Creator, thank You for gathering us together and giving us this path.

Thank You for every state You send us—for the ascents and the descents, for what feels good and for what feels evil. Help us to see behind them all the one Messenger, the one Source, directing us toward You.

Teach us not to fight the desires You created in us, but to scrutinize the intention with which we use them. Give us the strength to turn from reception for ourselves toward bestowal, connection, and love.

Where we discover that we cannot change our intention, build in us the true need for Your help.

Unite us as one desire, one kli, and one prayer. Correct what only You can correct, and bring us together into adhesion with You.

Amen.
