In the past five months, we collaborated and shared our ideas from different perspectives, as we came from different backgrounds including visual design, mathematics and bio-medicial sciences. We interviewed professors, doctors, and potential users to improved our product, which can be described in the four areas.

First, Before we only used excel produced bar graph to illustrate the change of risk score, which is pretty standard and boring. Now we have a combination of cartoons and bar graphs to help users make more sense of the potential CVD risk level.

Second, many people may not be willing to prevent CVDs before they had any symptoms, so we added contrast negative/positive emotional strategies to motivate people. Such as creating scenarios that you might be scared of (such as Emerging room) and scenarios you feel happy about: like spending more time with grandchildren and families.

We also learned about challenges in the digital data privacy and difficulties in the linkage of the medical records (ai) to our app. And there isn’t a very accurate mathematical model which takes into accounts of risk enhancers for us to calculate risk score.
