ASUP Core Values

Curiosity

We believe in the power of human potential. We embolden bright minds to shine by piquing new interests and finding the courage to try new things.

We do this by...

  • Cultivating an environment that inspires and encourages continued learning at all levels.
  • Leading by example, constantly challenging ourselves to develop professionally and personally.
  • Providing robust learning opportunities and career guidance for our team members and students.

Disruption

We challenge ourselves to innovate—not for self-promotion, but in the humble pursuit of improving lives.

We do this by...

  • Having the agility to test and implement new ideas quickly without being afraid to fail.
  • Learning from our mistakes and using them to chart our path forward.
  • Thinking outside the box and taking risks in the pursuit of challenging the way education has always been done.

Collaboration

We work across department lines to foster a culture of inclusion and belonging, where everyone has a platform to exchange ideas and put them into practice.

We do this by...

  • Building meaningful and lasting professional relationships with each other and our students.
  • Being open-minded and maintaining a safe space free from bias, where everyone is treated equally regardless of their background or title.
  • Listening to each other, giving and receiving feedback in a respectful and positive way.
  • Functioning as one team versus separate departments or schools.

Individuality

We celebrate each other’s uniqueness and create an environment that allows everyone to be the best version of themselves.

We do this by...

  • Removing barriers to learning, creating unique pathways to education and successful careers for both our students and our peers.
  • Embracing diversity and promoting equal opportunities for everyone.
  • Showing empathy and compassion, because you have to walk a mile in someone’s shoes before you can truly help them along their path.
