Your first slide is the title slide: (Suggestion: You can "Insert" "Word Art" for a slick looking title.)
Create a title, your name, name of group members name, and 1 graphic.
Directions:
As a team, your group creates 12 slides for your "iPad News Broadcast". Use this presentation as a guide to help build each slide.
Step 1: To get started, one person from the group "Creates" a "New Presentation" then "Shares" it with the rest of the team.
Step 2: As a team make decisions on who is going to build each of the slides. Make sure the work is done fairly. DO NOT CHANGE SOMEONE ELSE'S WORK!!
2nd Slide -
This slide's title should be called, History.
History of the 13 Colonies. Questions to answer: How did this all happen? Why did they come over here in the first place? (the Brainpop link has all the answers) William Bradford
Add one graphic of all the colonies (for all graphics in this presentation, use the "research" button under "Tools" so that you can easily show your source).
3rd Slide - Type Title here, make it the name of your colony.
1. Your colony's name.
2. The group your colony is part of (New England, Middle, or Southern)
3. What is that group known for (the Brainpop link has the answer)?
4. What year was your colony settled?
5. Graphic of your colony.
4th Slide - Title: Physical Resources
1. What was the climate like?
2. What physical resources helped them to survive? (did they have access to large rivers to fish from? A warm climate to build plantations? Access to the Atlantic?)
5th Slide - Title should be People
1. Name 1 or 2 important people from your colony.
2. Why were they important?
3. Highlight your person's name on this page, click "Research" and see if you can find an image of your person. Colonials, even the important ones, did not have access to Facebook, so you may have to be creative in finding an image for this page.
6th Slide - Title: Homes
1. Describe the homes in your colony.
2. Finding an image may be very difficult here. See if you can take out your pen, "Insert" a "Drawing", click on the "Scribble" tool and draw something that represents your description of the home. The best artist in your group may want to take care of this slide...
INTERVIEW SLIDE (Listen for teacher Explanation)
7th Slide - Food
1. What type of food did your colony eat?
2. No drive-through Starbucks in these days kids. So be VERY clear about how Colonials were able to feed their families.
3. Image (DO NOT put an image that looks like it came from Red Lobster. Try to find an authentic looking image)
INTERVIEW SLIDE
Slide 8: Jobs
(this might be related to the food slide)
1. What did they do for work? Can you find information on how much they earned? Were they even paid in money or did they trade?
2. Image
INTERVIEW SLIDE
9th Slide: Entertainment
1. What did they do for fun or entertainment?
2. Images (Again, be creative in your search, no images should look like they came from ESPN. That would just be weird.)
INTERVIEW SLIDE
Slide 10: Education
1. What was their Education like?
2. Images: You may need to have the artist insert a "Scribble" here. Last I checked, there were not too many Smart Boards back then.
INTERVIEW SLIDE
Slide 11: Religion
1. Explain their religion. What did they believe and how did they follow their religion? Did they go to a church? Meet in someone's home? Did they meet around a campfire?
2. Image
INTERVIEW SLIDE
Slide 12: Conclusion
1. Use this slide to wrap up your presentation.
2. Image: Something authentic about your colony.
