Updated Post Form--Why?

YOU spend 5X more on post (add/edit) pages than any other page in the Core Pub admin.

​

While usability tests showed you use the post page well and have little confusion with its features, we believed the experience of creating posts could be improved.

​

GOALS:

  • Simplify functionality
  • Order tasks by importance
  • Only expose features you use
  • Beauty!

Post Form--Assets

Important notes about assets:

​

  • Slideshow creation has moved above the WYSIWYG.
  • You can place audio ONLY in the WYSIWYG.
  • The audio that appears closest to the top of the post will be your podcast audio (also called "primary audio.")
  • On older stories where audio was added the "old" way, you will be able to edit that audio below the WYSIWYG.

Post Form--*CKEditor

We have updated the contributed text editor module we use in the WYSIWYG.

We have seen some improvements in functionality including easier highlighting of text.

​

*CKEditor is the TEXT editor we use in our WYSIWYG.
