Sticky Note Activity
Mission Statement: Silver Creek Advisory will engage students and staff as a community to develop skills for academic, career, and social emotional success.
On three different colored sticky notes, write down what you want to get out of advisory based on the three categories of the mission statement: academic, career, and social emotional success.
Examples:
Academic: I hope to work on goal setting and my procrastination.
Career: I want to find colleges that match what I want to do in life.
Social emotional: I want to learn how to effectively engage in my high school experience.

Norms
If we are going to have a trusting, safe space, we need to follow these norms and create the environment.
What norms do you feel are important to include in our space?
Credit for Advisory
Satisfactory attendance of 80% or better is expected and will result in a .25 credit of guided study on pass/fail scale, for each successful year completed. That equals 1.0 credit in four years!
This does not impact G.P.A. and only provides additional credits to participants.
ICAP graduation requirements will be addressed during advisory. Any absences will result in the student’s responsibility to complete on their own time.
“.25 Advisory” will be added to your transcript in January and June.
Is this one of my 6 classes needed to be full-time? NO, you must have at least 6 other classes to be considered full-time.
Have a class at CETC or IC?
Students are not held to any detriment if attending the Career Elevation and Technology Center (CETC) or the Innovation Center (IC).
Kindly let your Advisory teacher know what course you are in at either location and they will manage your attendance accordingly.
On Advisory days, CETC students may be late or early to class, due to slight conflicts in SCHS and others’ schedules. Remember to report directly to class and let your receiving teacher know the conflict involving CETC/IC. .
Students scheduled for a double block at CETC/IC are not expected to return for Advisory.
From Silver Creek to Beyond!
During Advisory, we will also have visits to the College and Career Center from colleges, universities, junior colleges, community colleges, trade schools and armed services recruiters.
If you attend, check in with your teacher first for attendance and then sign in at the Counseling desk.
This information will be posted in the College and Career Center.
