Impactful Solutions
Humanitarian Innovation Hackathon (HIH) 2025 Finalist – University of Sydney
Students from the IEEE Student Branch participated in HIH 2025 in two dynamic teams, tackling pressing humanitarian challenges through innovative engineering solutions. One of our teams successfully placed in the top 10 as a finalist, a testament to their problem-solving skills and dedication.
1
Problem Identification
Students identified critical issues faced by small island states, focusing on sustainable and accessible solutions.
2
Creative Solutions
Teams developed prototypes and proposals for impactful solutions, leveraging their engineering knowledge for social good.
3
Regional Collaboration
The hackathon fostered collaboration among students, mentors, and local stakeholders across the Pacific region.
This event perfectly aligns with IEEE's commitment to promoting research, mentorship, and innovation through programs like local hackathons, empowering students to use their skills to address real-world needs.
