  • Sanitize your hands upon entry.
  • No eating.
  • Minimize movement: You must remain seated at their desks for the entire class, unless they’ve been given permission to go to the bathroom. You will use the same desk every day.

When you’re at home

22

23 of 25

During class

  • Do not rely on private chat - it will be very difficult for the teacher to continually check the chat. If you need something, unmute and call the teacher’s name.
  • Participation is still mandatory - and cannot be effectively done by private chat. It will look more like it looks in person.
  • Keep your camera on. Visual cues will be even more important now that the teacher is not constantly looking at the computer screen.

23

24 of 25

Class dismissal & transition

  • Teachers may be less available between classes (they have to dismiss their students and let the next ones into their class).
  • You may have to wait longer for a teacher to start the zoom meeting or get out of the waiting room.
  • If you leave, you will be marked absent for the class.
