Middle School Grief Peer Support Group: We have an opportunity available for Pine River Middle School Students who have experienced the death of a loved one to participate in a peer grief support group. The group will be run by Michael’s Place, an organization that specializes in the grief process. Please contact Mrs. Gullekson (amyo.gullekson@pineriver.org) or the middle school office if you are interested. Weekly sessions (4-8 sessions) will be held in school, during school hours, and are free to students. Parent/guardian consent is required. Students who have lost a family member or close friends at some point in their lives are encouraged to attend, even if they are handling it well. A number of students in our school have experienced loss. Having a safe place to review the grief process (which changes as we develop throughout life) is important.
