If you didn't attend the event, why?

I prefer to eat at home.

Out of town

It is because my hubby is at Work on Sat

I did attend the event through Eventbrite which is not listed as one of the choices.

Covid times + 2 little ones

Attended via zoom because I was being cautious about in-person events as I'm visiting a young unvaccinated toddler soon.

Post-Event Feedback Survey: What didn’t go so well

41

None

nothing!

Couldn’t see the screen

NIL

Wasn't able to get dine in ticket because signed up late

Physical event is still more interactive, hope to have it after covid-19

I ordered 4 dishes and I got 3. Very sad, very annoyed with myself for not checking the bag. No dinner for me tonight after all the effort to drive to Palo Alto.

Some of the Zoom participants had some bad feedback from the mics.

Food was a bit soggy and I wasn’t able to see the screen.

Nothing

I felt the event duration was a little too short. I had to rush to collect food and get back, and joined the event late. Good job for pacing the event well though!

zoom a bit choppy..

I participated online. Imo there were too many images of the live venues, particularly of the dine in participants, without any apparent purpose, but it induces fomo and negative feelings. (I'm not talking about the interviews with the entrepreneurs, which has information content, but bare scenes of the large crowd.) Some of the online participants are not participating in person because - though tempted by the promise of human connection - we're uncomfortable with risky situations in the middle of a raging pandemic exacerbating inequality in society. My suggestion is to keep the live scenes purposeful and informational, and allow for interaction among online participants, maybe through breakout rooms, instead of letting us see only the dine-in participants having all the fun.

Everything was well planned and executed. Shout out to the SingaporeConnect volunteer team. Excellent job!!!

Registration was confusing as multiple emails are required. At the very end, the eventbright email is not the one eligible viewing the zoom link.

Didn't indicate how the lucky draw will be done

Not a big deal but would have loved to participate in an in-person dine in if it were available at the restaurant. Looked fun from the live streams :) Also, restaurant did not have mugs and was confused when we asked about it (we were first in the queue).

Can't see the video from the East coast - Selera Bunda.

Some lag on the Zooms at the local restaurants. The pickup in Oakland was during the start of the event (I'm sure you know about that already).

Nothing I can think of.

I would have personally preferred attendees to observe more stringent masking requirements above the current CDC recommendations.

More collaborative sessions

Food - Did a pick up from Satayman. Feed was horrible. Chicken from the chicken rice was uncooked and rotting smell so threw that away. The satay were tough, almost not edible, threw that away too.

44

Great energy!

Great job!

Thanks for organising!

Great job

Thanks for all the hard work!

As someone who hasn't had access to a network of Singaporeans in the Bay Area, this has been a great event feeling connected to the people in the area.

Well done and good effort!

Thank you for trying.

Looking forward to next year's event!

Thank you!

You are the best committee !

Swetha is the best

good job!.. nice to be reminded of our home sweet home

Keep it up!

Excellent job guys!

Make registration easier.

Love the international and US regional scale of the event. It required lots of coordination and efforts, well done!

Thank you so much for putting in time and energy to plan this. It is always hard to be far from home, but especially this past year so it was very meaningful <3

Good start, maybe future celebrations could be at venue for guests to gather and mingle ( park close by to Rest?)

Thank you all for all the hard work you put in. Great job!

I like the event

I think they did an awesome job promoting to us Singaporeans or former Singaporeans where to find home authenticate Singaporean food that they missed so much and not easily found in USA, when they don't live in the Bay area.

Great work & props to organizers for bringing overseas Singaporeans together :)

Thanks for the effort to organize this üòäüëç

good job!

You are doing a great job! Grateful

Awesome work. Love how the event agenda changes up each year.

Thank you so much for the hard work put into this. What a wonderful time and opportunity to connect with the community.

Kudos to the organizers and everyone who has helped out in this event. The event was well organized with clear instructions for both the online and dined-in folks. The food line was efficiently managed, and the hosts did a fantastic job to make everyone feels welcomed.

Nil

Keep it up and try to bring in more Singaporeans next year!

I loved the Singapore-themed quiz! Would love to see that again next year

Thank you so much! We can’t wait to resume our normal in person large gatherings!

Thanks for volunteering your time to bring a touch of Singapore here

Thanks!! Everything went so smoothly :)

Thanks so much for the effort in organizing this!! It was super fun

I really appreciate how thoughtfully coordinated this was, and can see how much effort people have volunteered into making this happen. It was a very warm gesture and made me happy to have something to look forward to and participate in, and share with my husband as well who's a US citizen. I think that the simple idea of having us all meet in different locations to share a meal was very effective in showing how many of us there are, and it was special! Especially since it was like being invited to someone's home to have a meal (cept it was Singaporean-owned restaurants). Playing a quiz game together was fun too. One suggestion is that I actually think that doing more games/friendly/silly competitions between locations/restaurants would have been a more fun way to spend bonding time than doing the Singapore's Got Talent show afterwards. Maybe simple/low stakes online drawing games/a shared jam board could have been fun.

Repeat all activities next year....!

What a great idea and event! Love that you are continuing to find ways to connect those abroad in the U.S.

Repeat event!

Let's pat ourselves on our backs. üòÅ

Continue to engage us through such events/talks

This is awesome. Please keep doing this to keep the Singapore spirit alive overseas. It means a lot.

Keep up the good work, hope to attend the event in person next year

Post-Event Feedback Survey: Improvement Suggestions

46

Check every bag so everybody gets every dish they ordered.

Pick up had some hiccups but ok overall

Maybe a longer pick up time would be good. Also, with the current covid situation, will it be possible to have others organize small park meet ups post event?

hope to be live event soon

Faster pickup using qr code, don't require entering premise.

Pre-event registration was easy, instructions were clear.

Not a major issue at all but we received so many emails in the run up to the event that it was a little confusing trying to figure out if there were updates or something to look out for.

More food tickets

Pre-event registration/communication would be nice. // see next comment :)

Too many email notifications & links for Zoom

More prizes for games & lucky draws

Mandatory vaccination

Everything went well and everybody in my family has had a good time. One small pet peeve is with the mobile app Kahoot! It freezes up constantly and took forever to login and load.

Both hybrid

All went well

A bit more spaced out given the COVID situation?

We didn't know the dining was outdoors so were a bit hesitant beforehand

All good to me!

Perhaps specific locations would have separate feedback......our venue was limited to 35.....and that was very workable....

The restaurant in Oakland didn't know about the mugs, so despite being the first in queue, we weren't able to get the commemorative mug!

Prefer to have large party with all Singaporeans in hotel ballroom like previous years!

More organized

Curate the food caterers in future. Keep the food options to tested and proven vendors like Killiney Road and Shiok in the bay area
