First Trimester

Expectations

At this point in the year, it is expected that most students have 2’s on their report cards. This is because:

  • Not all components of a standard have been taught
  • Students are still developing their understanding and evidence of understanding is not usually consistent at this point
    • This is a reflection of what has been taught so far
  • Students have the entire year to develop mastery of the standards

State standards expect students to master the standards by the end of the year

First Trimester

Expectations (cont.)

Scores of 3 and 4 are occasionally given but not expected at this point, as students have yet to have the opportunity to demonstrate mastery of the whole standard.
