DEFINATION

If a no. of voltage or current sources are acting symultaneously in a leaner network the resultant current in any branch is the algebraic sum of currents that would be produce in it, when each source acting alone replacing all other sources by their internal resistance .

PROCEDURE

  • DC supply apply both v1 & v2 and measure the branch current I1,I2,I3
  • Short circuit v2 and active v1 only then measure I1’,I2’,I3’
  • Short ckt v1 and active v2 then measure I1”,I2”,I3”
  • Now calculate I1,I2,I3 by the algebraic sum of I1’, I2’,I3’ and I1”,I2”.I3”
  • Repeat the steps for further verification .
