RMO Definition

RMO or Retail Mass Offer is a functionality in AMAST SWIFT that allow user to configure discount/rebate or promotion in the system. There are 2 types of RMOs available:

  1. Predefined RMO - predefined RMO is given “after-the-fact” i.e. after the promotion period ends and a calculation is made on the achievement set for the targeted outlets. The calculation is done outside of the system which typically looks at the total volume achieved by the targeted outlets and the amount of RMO is then awarded based on that.
  2. Dynamic RMO - dynamic RMO is given “on-the-spot”. As opposed to predefined RMO, there is no waiting period as far as the retailers are concerned. As long as the retailers achieved the target set, the RMO is awarded immediately. From marketing point of view, Dynamic RMO has more appealing elements as it can be used to entice the retailers to buy more for the immediate gratification.

Predefined RMO Parameters

The predefined RMO takes the following parameters:

  1. RMO Title - a meaningful description of the RMO
  2. Start date - start date of the RMO which means you can plan ahead when to award the RMO. When the date becomes current, the system will automatically award the RMO if the outlet qualifies
  3. End Date - end date of the RMO which means once this date is past, the system will stop awarding the RMO even if the RMO is still pending.
  4. List of target outlets - list of outlets which will qualify for this RMO program

RMO Award Validation

On the front-end (Android), the system will qualify whether or not to award the RMO based on the following criteria:

  1. The overall invoice amount > RMO amount; which means the RMO will not be awarded if the total invoice amount is lower than the predefined RMO amount
  2. The RMO is active i.e. within the start and end date period
  3. The outlet is in the targeted outlet list

Dynamic RMO Parameters

The Dynamic RMO takes the following parameters:

  • RMO Title - a meaningful description of the RMO
  • Start date - start date of the RMO which means you can plan ahead when to award the RMO. When the date becomes current, the system will automatically award the RMO if the outlet qualifies
  • End Date - end date of the RMO which means once this date is past, the system will stop awarding the RMO even if the RMO is still pending.
  • List of target outlets - list of outlets which will qualify for this RMO program
  • Discount UOM - this parameter is related to the Discount per UOM parameter. To illustrate the usage, see the example below:
    1. Discount UOM : Packet
    2. Discount per UOM : RM1.2

Scenario: Sold 10 Packets, Total Discount Awarded: 10 x 1.2 = RM12

  1. Product Type - use this option to target a specific group of SKUs or ALL skus. When selection is other than “ALL”, user is requested to specify the targeted SKUs. The default selection is “ALL”
  2. Cap per Transaction - limit of RMO per transaction to be given.
  3. Weekly Refresh - Dynamic RMO is awarded based on accumulated achievement within the specified period. If this parameter is checked, the accumulated achievement is reset every Sunday night. This can be used by the salesmen to entice the retailers to buy more by convincing that they will not be qualifying the RMO if they do not achieve the target by end of the week.
  4. Qualifier - please refer to the next slide to see how the qualifier is used

Qualifier Parameter

The qualifier parameter allows user to set the RMO to be awarded if the qualifier is achieved or not. Consider the following example.

RMO Configuration 1:

Qualifier = FALSE

Target = 10 Packets

Discount UOM = Packet

Discount per UOM = RM1.2

Sales:

Total Sales = 11 Packets

RMO awarded = 11 x 1.2 = RM13.2

RMO Configuration 2:

Qualifier = TRUE

Target = 10 Packets

Discount UOM = Packet

Discount per UOM = RM1.2

Sales:

Total Sales = 11 Packets

RMO awarded = (11-10) x 1.2 = RM1.2
