CELEBRATE EVERY CURVE: ART IN EVERY FOLD

Oil, canvas

100 cm х 81 cm, 2025, Spain

The curtain, which traditionally conceals the hidden, this time reveals not an idealized beauty, but what society has taught us to hide. Raphael painted curtains that opened up to gods and saints—here, it parts to reveal something sacred in itself: the real, living body.

Two figures, wrapped in delicate ribbons, emphasize their physicality. Their expressions speak not of shame or apology, but of pure pleasure in being—being themselves, living in their own bodies without fear.

In the background—blurred faces. Are they observers, a judging crowd, or symbols of social control? They watch, they wonder, they try to impose rules. But these gazes no longer hold power. The heroines do not hide, do not justify, do not feel shame.

The body does not need permission to be beautiful

Oil, canvas

118 cm х 89 cm, 2025, Spain

This work is an attempt to give voice to contemporary bodies — those that go beyond the usual beauty standards. A man and a woman stand nude, open, and entirely self-sufficient. They are not ashamed of their forms — they accept them, celebrate them, live in them.

The ribbon wrapping their bodies doesn’t restrict, but rather declares — The body does not need permission to be beautiful. It’s a statement that challenges the external gaze — one that often judges and excludes. The golden "sun" on the body symbolizes a new dawn, inner strength, and light that does not need permission to shine — yet people themselves draw the line of what’s allowed, as if turning down the brightness, like on a screen.

She holds a calla lily — a symbol of tenderness, feminine strength, and a fulfilled life in relationship. Not only in love, but also in her relationship with her body, her partner, and the world around her. In her hand, the flower becomes a sign of acceptance, trust, and dignity.

Their posture, gestures, and gaze speak of care, trust, and unity through difference. Beauty here is presence. Realness. The story of their ancestors is behind them, but their future is being created now.

Sunbeams in Light’s Shadow

Sunbeams dance in light’s soft shadow,

They play on canvas, touching dreams,

Tickling the girl with gentle glow,

Offering her light, in tender gleams.

Light and shadow weave their threads,

In every touch, deep harmony sings,

Small joys and quiet sorrows spread,

Merged in this game of contrast springs.

And so, in light’s shadow, meaning grows,

Where sunbeams craft the magic of the day,

You paint life’s best in every hue,

And all of this is part of our way.

She closed her eyes and enjoyed the moment. The power of the rope, the energy of two...Trust. This is so impressive to me in a shibari. Hug the rigger through the rope. Touching, looking, breathing, it's like dancing in outer space...

the rope moves slowly, touching the most secret places...

Soul’s Touch

Acrylic, oil, gold leaf, marker, canvas, 100 cm х 81 cm, 2024, Spain

In this painting, the main heroine is depicted, tied with shibari ropes, looking seductive and mysterious. On each side of her stand two figures wearing Hannya masks. The Hannya masks, with their expressive features of suffering and sadness, add an aura of mystery to this image. The figures holding the main heroine’s hands not only do so firmly but also gently, tempting her and whispering seductive words into her ear. The girl hears the breath, feels the presence of her partner, not knowing who he or she is behind the mask, obediently lowering her head, soaring into ecstasy from emotional arousal.

BORDERLINE

70х150 cm, 2021, Ukraine

American singer Nina Simone said, “You can’t help it. An artist’s duty, as far as I'm concerned, is to reflect the times.”

The eroticism of the hands is not subject to the shutters of cameras, the membrane of microphones is elusive. And the silence, open arms, becomes defenseless and vulnerable. Touching you, holding your fingers tightly, trapping them - persistent, strong, gentle, erasing the first fear with the palm of your hand, removing like a peel, being outside the body, being somewhere between the line of life and the line of heart, feeling the heat of your skin, lying on her snow ...

Hand eroticism is our human-made miracle.

Artist statement

I work in the genres of graphics, painting, and sculpture, exploring complex and multifaceted themes that often remain unnoticed or even prohibited in society. The central motif of my art is the woman—a symbol of life, faith, and aesthetic perception of the world. Through female figures, I aim to reveal deeper connections between people, showcasing their dreams, illusions, and psychological experiences.

Throughout my life, I have been deeply interested in the theme of sexual orientation, which was hidden and forbidden in Soviet Ukraine. In my work, I boldly address topics that were previously considered taboo: sexual orientation, bondage, homosexuality, and more. I seek to evoke strong emotions in viewers, encouraging them to immerse themselves in a world of fantasies that go beyond the conventional.

My goal is to challenge stereotypes about what is considered "normal" and promote a deeper reevaluation of these concepts.

Society often imposes rigid boundaries on what is deemed "normal" or "acceptable." These concepts are frequently shaped by cultural, historical, and social factors that can be limiting and narrow. My art is aimed at challenging these stereotypes, offering an alternative perspective on human nature and interactions.

I strive to show that what was once considered unacceptable or uncomfortable is, in fact, an integral part of the human experience. Through my works, I invite the viewer to reflect on why certain themes are considered taboo and how important it is to broaden our understanding of what is "normal." My art is not merely an aesthetic form but also a tool for exploring, deconstructing, and reevaluating those concepts that are often unaccepted or misunderstood in society.

The woman in my art is not only a symbol but also a real individual who faces various challenges: injustice, discrimination, violence. Through my works, I aim to capture the essence of women, their dreams and illusions, exploring their psychology and role in society. My art is an expression of the inner emotions and feelings inspired by the world around me, contributing to a deeper understanding and increased awareness of issues that often go unnoticed.
