Vargo (Social Studies)

-Check in with me through Google Meets. The link is in Classroom, and it counts as 2 days on the tracker.
-There is an assignment for each day. All information will be provided through Google Classroom, but I will be available if there are questions.

For each day we are on NTI, you must pick a writing prompt. You can only use each writing prompt one time. Answer the prompt using the R.A.C.E. format. Phelps (SEL) PACT
Directions: For each day we are on NTI, complete an assignment below on a separate sheet of paper. Complete and discuss with a family member to practice appropriate social skills we have been learning in class. Turn assignment in along with your completed assignment upon return to school.
Day 1: COMPLIMENTS A compliment is something you say to someone to express praise or admiration. What are times you can share a compliment? Write 5 compliments that you can share with your family members today.
Day 2: INSTEAD OF… What are some things you can do differently this week when you are feeling anxious? When I feel anxious, instead of _____________, I will use these coping skills ___________, ___________, ___________, ___________, ___________. Share with a family member.
Day 3: TRUST What does trust mean to you? Is trust easy or difficult for you? Who are 3 people you trust? What traits do they have that help you to trust them? Share with a family member.
Day 4: POSITIVE & NEGATIVE THOUGHTS The thoughts that you have when you’re anxious can determine how you end up handling the situation. Positive thoughts are ones that help you calm down and cope in a way that works out for you. Negative thoughts only make your anxiety worse. What are some negative thoughts that you have when you get anxious? What are positive thoughts you can have instead? Share with a family member.
Day 5: STRENGTHS A strength is something you are good at. It can be an activity, a way of thinking, etc. How can you use your strengths to do good for your family or friends? Share with a family member.
