Days
Of
Action
Want big impact?
Use big image.
2
Do you have examples?
Through this Youth Summit, have you heard of others participating in a day of action?
3
What is a Day of Action?
unifying
theme.
4
The theme brings it all together - it is what makes it a day of action as opposed to a few actions on the same day.
5
“
So what is a theme?
Colour
A theme could be a colour - everyone wearing the same colour or painting banners using the same colour.
Slogan
A theme could be a slogan, something short and to the point that is used on banners or chanted.

Let’s get down to the details
7
Things to consider up front.
Goals and objectives
What are we aiming to acheive with our day of action? What change do we want to see?
Partners
It’s always easier with more hands on deck - who could help us? Partner organisations? Prominent individuals?
Roles
Who is going to be in charge of what? Communications, training, onboarding, outreach, fundraising, partner liaison.
Running an event
Are we running our own event, or just helping others run events?
Priority events
Which are our priority events that we want to give more attention to? The more strategic ones? The ones nearest us?
Absorption!
How do we make sure that people don’t just attend this one event, but are keen to join us when we organise again?
8
Recap!
A day of action is a great way to bring activists together across large distances and provide an entry point for new activists. Events happening together at the same time with a unifying theme increases the excitement and newsworthiness.
