Our hometown Brno is �a centre of South Moravia.

With its 400 000 inhabitants it is the second biggest city in the Czech Republic.

Brno is a city with friendly cosmopolitan atmosfere full of colourful events and scents, from North protected by a collar of hills and with its arms open to the sunny lowlands of South Moravia.

Brno is the city with a dragon as a beloved symbol, the city that has not only two castles - Špilberk and Veveří - but also two Town Halls, and where the bells chime noon one hour earlier. It is so easy to fall in love with our city and love it forever. It deserves it.

The Cathedral of Sts. Peter and Paul

In the market center there is the Baroque fountain Parnas with many mythical figures and allegorical animals.

The Špilberk castle

-It was founded in the mid 13th century by Bohemian King Presmylid Otakar II

-It was rebuilt as a mighty military fortress and a prison in the 17th and 18th centuries

-there is a 114m deep well and a 15-bell carillon on the 2nd courtyard

Villa Tugendhat

-it was registered with � the World Cultural Heritage� UNESCO in 2001.
