For our next social event of the semester, we will be hosting a SWE Bar Crawl!

  • Open to SWE members (21+ only)!
  • $5 for those who sign up - SWE Fundraiser!!
  • When: Saturday, April 20th starting at 8:00 pm
  • Where: Starting at Happy’s!
  • Use the QR code or link below to fill out the interest form
  • T-shirt design is pictured!
  • I will send an official registration form with final details once all the info is set (t-shirt pricing, other locations, times, etc.)

March DEI Moment: Women’s History Month

  • In 1987, Congress declared the entire month of March Women’s History Month
  • celebrated to remind everyone of the achievements of women throughout the years in our culture and society
  • The 2024 theme is “women who advocate for equity, diversity and inclusion” which recognizes women who understand the need to eliminate bias and discrimination from everyday life and institutions
  • Examples include Amelia Earhart, Rosa Parks, Maya Angelou, and Alice Walker

    • Can run for multiple positions, but you will only be elected for one
    • Sign up on the sheet for each individual position you want to run for
    • Must email Malia a slide about you/your SWE involvement (mrr0043@mix.wvu.edu)
  • Closes on April 10th at 11:59PM
    • Any sign-ups or slides received after this time will NOT be considered
  • Must be a PAID SWE member to run and vote

SWE Points Rewards System

  • We will keep track of attendance to all events and give a certain number of points for each event. Make sure you always sign in/out!
  • The person with the most points at the end of the semester will get choice of SWE gear or gift card. (~$25 value) 
  • 1 pt – Meetings, bringing a new student to a meeting/event
  • 2 pts - Social events, professional development events, bringing a grad student to a meeting/event
  • 3 pts – Any event that counts for SAC hours, fundraising events
