Why do we call our program "an adventure"?
Isn't an adventure something like a jungle trip, a dangerous and courageous undertaking - for example in another country? When we conceived the Clim@venture, we were actually thinking about travelling and the challenges you can experience there. If you are curious and want to get involved with other cultures, other people and their point of view. This is where our clim@venture comes in: Here, too, it is about curiosity, courageously entering into conversation, engaging with other people's points of view. But in the immediate environment. Close to the school, close to home. Here, too, such an exploration can have these components of an adventure, on a small scale. This is why we also use the term "micro-adventure". It takes courage to ask for an interview appointment. There may be surprises if the interviewer disagrees with you completely - for example, about the role of CO2 in global warming. Then you need empathy - as if you were meeting someone from a different culture that you are not familiar with. So go on an "adventure trip" - in your surroundings and experience with the senses of strangers what you think you already know well. Embrace the unusual and make an adventure out of it yourself!

Why do we refer to our program as "an adventure"?
Isn't an adventure typically associated with activities like a jungle expedition or a daring undertaking in a foreign country? When we conceptualized Clim@venture, we were indeed contemplating travel and the challenges one encounters in unfamiliar territories. If you possess curiosity and a desire to engage with different cultures, people, and perspectives, Clim@venture is designed for you. In this context, it's about embracing curiosity and courageously initiating conversations, delving into diverse viewpoints, but within your immediate surroundings—close to school, close to home. Here, too, this exploration holds the elements of an adventure, albeit on a smaller scale. Hence, we use the term "micro-adventure."
Embarking on an interview appointment requires courage. There might be surprises if the interviewer strongly disagrees with your stance—such as on the role of CO2 in global warming. This situation demands empathy, akin to encountering someone from a different culture. Take this as an "adventure trip" within your local environment, using your senses to explore what you thought you already knew well from the perspectives of strangers. Embrace the unfamiliar, turning it into an adventure of your own!
Why do we call our program 'an adventure'? Adventures are usually associated with things like jungle expeditions or daring trips abroad. But when we created Clim@venture, we thought about exploring new ideas and challenges right where you are—close to home and school. If you are curious and enjoy meeting new people and learning about different perspectives, Clim@venture is for you. It's like going on a mini-adventure in your own community.

The Paris-Agreement 2015
and why it is so important for our adventure…
The 2015 Paris Agreement was an important milestone because it was the first global agreement that committed all countries to tackling climate change¹. It set the goal of limiting global warming to well below 2 degrees Celsius and making efforts to limit it to 1.5 degrees Celsius². It also committed countries to report regularly on their progress and to strengthen their climate protection measures³.

The SDGs
The United Nations has established 17 “Sustainable Development Goals” (SDGs) to promote sustainable development. Why? Humanity faces significant challenges. The population is continually growing, while the Earth's resources are limited. Humans have a considerable impact on their biological, geological, and atmospheric environments. Despite these finite resources and the limited ability of our planet to compensate, a good quality of life should be ensured for all people: both the present generation and future generations. The United Nations has developed a plan to achieve development that benefits everyone while staying within the planet's boundaries.

What is critical media competence
Critical media competence is a vital skill for the future, enabling individuals to navigate the digital world responsibly and effectively. It fosters informed decision-making, promotes democratic participation, and equips individuals to counter misinformation. In an era of ‘fake news,’ discerning fact from fiction is crucial. For students, it enhances learning and prepares them for active citizenship in a media-saturated society. Overall, it is key to maintaining a healthy, informed, and democratic society.

Storytelling competence
Storytelling is a powerful tool for communication and influence. Compelling stories make ideas and desires heard and understood. They captivate attention, evoke emotions, and create connections between the storyteller and the audience.
