The Honda Asimo can do all basic tasks that humans can do. Some examples of these tasks are it can talk, walk, dance, and even shake hands with you if you wanted it to do

Where is the robot used? What is its work envelope?

The robot is used in houses and buildings in which people need assistance. Honda engineers created Asimo with 34 degrees of freedom. Asimo also has 50 plus joints in his body.

Is the robotic end effector multi-functional? If so what other tasks can it perform?

Yes, the Asimo is multi-functional. It can do many other tasks such as turning on light switches, walking up stairs, open doors, carry objects, push carts, and it will clean for you also.

How is the robot taught to perform its task?

Asimo is taught by hardware that is put into him and all the information he needs is stored inside of him.

What Sensors does the robot have and how does the robot use these sensors

Asimo has force sensors in his wrists, because of this he can push carts. He also has cameras where human eyes would be. Both of these sensors combined lets him push a cart very easily.

You don’t have to do the task if the robot does it for you.
Technology is good enough so that it won’t mess up.
The robot doing the tasks for you will save you time to do other things.

The robot is slightly slower than people at performing a task.

Asimo has many capabilities for many audiences. The impact it could make if the price goes down is incredible. It could open many pathways for many people.

What type of jobs or careers can this robot create to provide employment for people ?

To start, engineers and designers will most always be trying to improve or tweak the design of asimo. Also at some point Asimo could have flaws or require maintenance so a technician or repair person may be needed.

This robot is already very functional although it can already understand pre programmed words and phrases, i think that someday it will have a “brain” where it can respond to whatever you say. Also, i believe there will be an attempt to mass producer them and let people buy them cheaper.
