Warm Up Question:
Describe this genotype โBBโ
What is the difference between heterozygous and homozygous?
Answer:
Learning Target:
Students will understand how allele combination creates genotypes and phenotypes.
Students will use a punnett square as a tool to predict offspring genotypes/phenotype
Success Criteria:

Punnett squares
The Punnett square is the standard way of working out what the possible offspring of two parents will be.
โIt is a helpful tool to show allelic combinations and predict offspring phenotype or genotype ratios.
We begin by constructing a grid of two perpendicular lines.

Next, put the genotype of one parent across
the top and the other along the left side. *B-Dimples

โขNotice only one letter goes above each box
โข It does not matter which parentโs genotype goes on either side.
Next, fill in the boxes by copying the column and row head-letters down and across into
the empty spaces.
